Protect Yourself from e-Transfer Fraud
We are aware of a recent increase in attempted fraudulent e-transfers amongst credit unions. Members are receiving fraudulent Interac e-Transfer notifications and are being lured into providing their personal financial information.
If you receive an unexpected notification for an Interac e-Transfer, please contact the sender through a different communication channel to verify the authenticity of the transfer. If you receive a notification from someone you do not know or believe it may be fraudulent, do not respond or click on any links within the email. Forward the email to phishing@interac.ca.
If you have any questions about Interac e-Transfers, contact the Solution Centre at 1-888-956-6636.
